What a wonderful weekend

This weekend I spent with my friends, two kids and my puppy. We rented a cottage in the forest near Kremnica. There is no electric light so it was amazing. Any computers, any radios, any TV. Only beautiful nature. To make a fire we had to cut the wood with axe. I nearly cut my fingers. Two of them still blue.
On Saturday morning I woke up and I heard some bells outside. When I walked out from the door I saw Shepard and about 60 cows. Then came out one of the two little boys (3 and 5 years old). He was scared, but surprised. After few minutes he asked: “And where is the purple cow?”. I am not sure if you know a chocolate Milka. It is very popular here in Europe. The company use a purple cow in their commercial spots. And kids starting to think that cows got to be purple. What an experience! We had so much fun.

Strike.

There was a big strike here in Slovakia last week. About 15000 people (from all districts in Slovakia) objected in Bratislava against bad social politics of our government. I participated for a first time in such a big strike. Our prime-minister said after this strike, that this is not good way, how to change things. May be (probably) he is right, we can’t change things by shouting on the streets. But this strike has a positive aspect too. Because people which where there got a feeling of fellowship and it is a sign that we all do care what’s going on in our country.

Like a spider on the web or a fish in the net?

This net on the picture is from Faculty of Architecture and was made by students of this faculty. Great work guys! It was there during the conference From a Global Village to a Global Net. And why it was there? Here comes the answer from Georg Flachbart. This is abstract of his lecture:
„The world as a heterarchical net offers endless possibilities for each individual to enter new networks and thus get to know different people and co-operate with them in creating cultural and economic activities, irrespective of geographical and time differences. It depends on us whether we are willing to master the „new mobility“ – spiritual as well as physical, which life within the Net will certainly require from us. It therefore depends on us whether we will behave, in this „net of the nets“, like a „fish“ which has been caught and is thus condemned to death for lack of oxygen, i.e. relevant skills, or whether we will behave like agile „spiders“, which feel themselves literally at home in it.“
I think that thanks TIG we are all learning to behave like agile „spiders“.

We’re just getting start!

The vision to create Slovakia TIG team came out in August this year. And how Jarra –TIG member said: it was only in august that I was sitting at my computer in the TIG office when George Flachbart (www.mind21.com) walked in and said, hi! is derek in?... he wasn't so we talked for 1 hour together about SCEI (www.scei.sk) and TIG before Derek came, that was before anyone knew anything... i remember... and then what, 2 months later they are visiting Slovakia and creating there a team.“
TIG in Slovakia is starting as a partner of Slovak Centre for European Integration in Kremnica.
But we want to inspire, informe and involve all young people in Slovakia.
